Native from the tropical and subtropical regions of East Asia, this species has a moderate distribution.
Biology & Ecology.
The species likely nests within the soil, leaf litters and/or decaying wood. In Hong Kong, this is a common species and can be found in both forest and disturbed environment. Workers are likely general hunters. The ecology of this species remains, for its most part, unknown.
Identification.
The species can be recognized by its smooth and shining surface, long antennae and legs, slim and elongated body, and trapezoid-shaped waist segment.
